Smart COB Light Manufacturer in India

Rayna Industries manufactures app-controlled COB downlights at our own facility in Ahmedabad. A smart COB is the same fixture as our standard COB — same optic, same driver, same housing — with wireless control built into the unit, so a whole ceiling can be switched, dimmed and tuned from a phone.

Every one of our eleven COB series is available in a smart version, from 7W to 50W. The cut-out, the beam angles and the finishes stay exactly the same, so a project can be specified first and the smart option added afterwards without changing the ceiling drawing.

What the smart version adds

• Dimming from the app, with no separate dimmer module in the wall.
• Colour temperature control — the same fixture at 3000K in the evening and 5000K during the day, changed from the phone.
• Scenes — a set of fixtures at set brightness and colour, recalled with one tap. A shop can hold one scene for daytime and another for evening display.
• Grouping and scheduling, so a whole floor follows opening hours on its own.
• Voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

Wi-Fi, Zigbee or Bluetooth Mesh?

Wi-Fi suits a home or a small installation. Each fixture connects to the router on its own, with no extra hardware.

Zigbee and Bluetooth Mesh suit larger jobs — hotels, villas, showrooms with many fixtures. The lights form their own mesh network, which keeps the router free and holds the connection across a bigger building. Both need a gateway.

All three run on the Tuya / Smart Life platform, so they sit in the same app as our smart switch boards and any other Tuya device already in the building.

What to check before ordering

Wi-Fi must be 2.4GHz. Wi-Fi fixtures connect on 2.4GHz, not 5GHz. Most routers broadcast both — the phone simply has to be on the 2.4GHz band while the fixture is being set up.

The wall switch stays on. A smart fixture needs continuous power to hold its connection. If the wall switch is turned off the light goes off like any other, but it also drops off the network until power returns. On a smart installation the lights are normally left switched on at the wall and controlled entirely from the app.

Smart fixtures or smart switches?

This is worth thinking about before ordering either.

A smart switch board makes an existing circuit smart — it controls whatever is already wired to it, including ordinary lights, fans and plug points. It is the cheaper route when a whole room simply has to become controllable.

A smart COB makes the individual fixture smart, which is what allows dimming and colour temperature change on that one light without touching the wiring. It is the right choice for accent lighting, display runs and anywhere the light itself has to change through the day.

Most projects use both — smart boards for the general circuits, smart fixtures where the lighting has to do more than switch on and off.

Build and warranty

LM80 certified LEDs, a BIS approved driver with built-in PFC and up to 4kV surge protection, and a powder-coated aluminium die-cast housing. Protection covers short circuit, open circuit, over voltage, under voltage and 440V input. Warranty up to 60 months depending on the build.
