Blade Linear Downlight — technical dimensions

The Blade puts several small COB heads in one recessed bar. Instead of a round pool of light it gives a continuous line, which is why it is specified over counters, along corridors and in ceilings where the lighting is meant to follow the geometry of the room.

Lumen output varies with CCT and beam angle. Both sizes are 47mm deep and take a 45mm wide slot.

Planning the cut-out

The slot is 45mm wide for both wattages — only the length changes, from 121mm at 12W to 197mm at 18W. That makes a run easy to plan: mark a single straight line across the ceiling, and the two sizes can be mixed along it without the width ever changing.

At 47mm the Blade is one of the shallowest fixtures we make, so it fits gypsum ceilings with very little space above them.

Where a linear fixture works better than a round one

Over anything long. A kitchen counter, a reception desk, a display shelf, a corridor — a round downlight lights the middle and leaves the ends dim, while a linear bar covers the whole length evenly.

It also suits ceilings with strong straight lines. Where a round COB downlight sits as a dot in the ceiling, the Blade reads as part of the architecture.

Beam angles

Available in 15°, 25°, 38° and 60°. Narrow angles keep a tight band of light on a counter or a display; wider angles spread it across the floor. Because each head is separately reflected, the line stays even at any angle.

Build

LM80 certified LEDs, a BIS approved driver with built-in PFC and up to 4kV surge protection, and a powder-coated aluminium die-cast housing. Protection covers short circuit, open circuit, over voltage, under voltage and 440V input. Available in black and white.
