The Bold is the short cylinder. It takes the same diameters as the plain Cylinder but sits closer to the ceiling, so it projects less into the room.

Lumen output varies with CCT and beam angle.
Ceiling height decides this one. On a standard 9 or 10 foot ceiling a long cylinder hangs into eye level and looks heavy, especially in a bedroom or a small office. The Bold keeps the same light output much closer to the slab.
It is the safe default of the surface range: no ceiling cut, no long body, nothing that has to be planned around. Where a room simply needs light on a concrete ceiling, this is usually the fixture.
For a taller, more designed look on a high ceiling, the Royal is the better choice. Where the light needs aiming, take the Royal Cylinder Movable.
